Methodology
  • In vitro (lab-based, outside the body): Co-aggregation tested by mixing -DSM17648 with different bacterial species.
  • In vivo (human trial): 22 H. pylori-positive adults received placebo for 14 days, then Pylopass® (20B CFU/day) for 14 days. Follow-up at 6, 12, and 24 weeks.
Results

DSM17648 bound specifically to H. pylori and reduced bacterial load in humans. The effect lasted up to 24 weeks.
